Every frame is essentially a picture, and objects are teleported and posed for each frame. It mainly happened when I was coming in fast - and I know a thing about how physics is handled. This is the most likely explanation I can come up with based on the hardware I was running when I experienced it - but it could be something else.

This likely means they have an issue when the cpu is maxxed that it can't get to some aspect of the tick in the same frame, so when it advances one or more, the person is under the ground and it doesn't look back the frames it skipped to see if the person would've been on the ground had the code run. The game ran great, but the physics couldn't keep up. I think the issue on the old game was because I didn't have the greatest cpu - Q6600 2.4Ghz overclocked to 3.0 with 8gb ddr2 at 400 or 800, and 750 ti then 1080 gtx gaming x. I was hoping it was no longer in this game because it only happened a few times when I was out of range but it could've also been a leviathan destroying it which is what I thought at the time. Ive already tried 'warpforward', but its not working at all. Sometimes there was an area underneath I could kind of get to, but I would typically have to abandon it - luckily I carry multiple tanks with me all the time so I never died from this bug except once when I wanted to see how deep I could go. In Subnautica it was so bad I couldn't use the prawn at all because every other time I would land on the surface, it would drop me through the surface. Yes, Prawn suits will no longer live underneath the map. As for the warp gate, you need to pack up the snowfox into your inventory, then go through. You will still need to bring the prawn eventually to drill for resources, but you do not need it to complete the main objectives.

I can't imagine it being all that hard to do.I thought they fixed this issue. Unknown Worlds Entertainments latest update to Subnautica: Below Zero may not be a big one, but it should make many a player happy. There is an ice worm avoidance module and thumpers that manage the worms.

To be honest, I am surprised that after first experiencing this issue in the original Subnautica they didn't implement some kind of automatic 'dislodge' mechanic that triggers at game start and moves you (and whatever vehicle you are in) away from all nearby surfaces until you are safely at a minimum distance. It was a small issue in Subnautica, but Below Zero has so many small corridors that it makes it a big - game breaking - problem.
